The Dalton's Treasure pt 3

Niky was walking down the school street.
It was a sunny sping day. The warm sun was heating the grass and the wind was playing delicately with flowers' stems. A dog passed next to the girl. She stopped, as she saw it sniffing her shoes, agitating its tail. Niky giggled, and stooped down to caress it. The dog licked her hand and run away.
She smiled and stood up, resuming walking.

As she arrived at her school, she glazed up to it.
The school was a blue building, with a lot of grey windows and an orange roof. There were a lot of girls and a few boys standing next to the blue gate, waiting for the janitor to open it.
Niky looked around, and as she saw her friends Siriana and Silvia, she walked across the street and walked to them.

-Goodmorning!- she said, happly.

-How come you have all this energy at eight o'clock in the morning?- Silvia asked her, with a yawn.

-Yeah- Siriana agreed -I thought you were the sleepy one here...-

Niky nodded her head. -I do- she said -but today I feel incredibly good. I got up with a lot of energy, I put on my favourite t-shirt, had a great breackfast and while I was walking to school a dog stopped to say hello... - she smiled at the thought, and resumed speaking: -I feel funny, like something is going to change...- she said,
thoughtfully.

Siriana rose an eyebrow -A changing you said?-

As the girl nodded, Silvia looked at her -What kind of changing?- she asked.

Niky shook her shoulders -I have no idea- she said -but I'm sure it's something important. I got goosebumps when I came here. It's the kind of sign that means something is going to happen...-

Silvia laughed -If you're right, I promise I'll buy you an ice cream!-

When she finished speaking, they dropped the subject and started chatting about their crushes.
Then, as they saw the janitor opening the gate, they walked to the building.

They were about to enter the gate when there was a loud crash. The girls gasped and turned around, and saw a cloud of white smoke coming out from behind a building.

Niky started to run, to find out what was going on.

-Niky, stop!- her friends called her -Where are you going?-  
As they saw she wasn't coming back, they decided to run after her.

When Niky reached the garden of the stadium next to their school, she stopped.

Siriana and Silvia reached her and when they saw what she was staring at, they both gasped.

In front of them, there was a big, strange machine that seemed to have barged down from the sky.
Apparently, the smoke was coming out from it.

-Silvia...- Niky said.

-Yes?- she answered, looking at the machine in disbelief.

Niky smiled, amused -I think you owe me an ice cream...-
