MU - Randall x Niky - I'm here (4)

"That Johnny will drive me nuts one day..."

Niky had just left the camp where the third event of the Scare Games had taken place and was walking to her lodging to study for her next exam. She tried to make te point of the situation and try to remember which things she still had to study and review, but couldn't help it but thinking about what had just happened.
She was talking to Randall outside the event's place, when Johnny interrupted them and middled, as usual.

"He never lets me talk to Randy!" she thought, angry "What's wrong with him? Why is he overreacting to the fact I don't like him and his mates of ROR? I'm not trying to convince Randy to leave them anymore!"

She kicked an empty can of soda she found on the street, and tried to think.
"I need to see him alone for a while" she thought "I need to ask him if he has anything to do with the poster accident..."

She had just found out that the previous evening, at the RORs' fraternity house, the RORs played a mean trick to the OKs. They organized a big party for all the teams who partecipated at the Scare Games, but in the middle of the party, they splitted some big tins of paint, glitters and flowers on the OKs, making fun of them in front of everyone. And not only that: they took pictures of it which could be found on the campus newspaper, on giant posters and on leflets the next morning. They even had them stamped on t-shirts and cups they sold pretending to be rising money for charity.
She didn't want to believe it when her friends told her at the OKs' house, before the event. She didn't feel good the night before, that's why she hadn't go to the party, and Randall had to slip in her room to find her.

"Randall would never do such a thing!" she thought "He would never hurt someone... I know him, he would never - !"

...

"Do you think it was a good idea not to tell her?" asked Sulley

Mike nodded his head "It would have torn her apart if we told her Randall was the one who released the stuffed-animals..."

Don Carlton sighed "They sure played us a nasty trick, guys..."

Sulley shruged "I told we shouldn't have gone to the party. It smelled fishy to me since the beginnig."

Squibbles nodded "We should have listened to you, 'brother'... But now, we're almost there!"

"Yeah" agreed Terri "We survived another game, and we were terrific!"

Terry nodded his head "There's just another game before the final event" he said "There's only us, the RORs and the HSSs now... Just another round, and we're going to the final!"

The enthusiasm was high in the house. The guys hadn't loose their smile and optimism even after that bad prank. they knew it was all about exercise and concentration, and they wanted to be on top for the next event.

Mike stood up and clapped his hands "Come on now, everybody at their places, we have work to do!"

Niky was reading about innovative scaring tecniques on a big book, when someone knocked at her room door.

"Come in, the door's open!" she said

"Knock knock..." whispered Johnny, standing at the door.

"Johnny?" she exclaimed in disbelief, turning to him "What are you doing here? Aren't you suppose to be resting from today's event?"

The monster chuckled, and sat on her bed

"Help yourself..." she commented, sarcastically

Johnny grinned and patted the materass with his paw "Why don't you sit here next to me for a while?" he asked, sleekly "You must be tired of all this hard-studying... Maybe I could help you to relax..."

Niky tried to hide a killer look "No thanks" she simply said "I like it better here"

Johnny shrugged "As you wish"

"Now, mind telling me why did you come here? And make it quick, if you don't mid... I have to study for my exams" she asked, annoyed

He rose both of his paws "At your beck and call, lady" she answered. Then, he stood up and walked to the window.
"I didn't mean to be rude! he said "I just wanted to say me and the guys are very sorry for what happened last night at our house... I guess your OK friends have told you..."

The girl narrowed her eyes "Yes, they did" she answered, coldly

"Well, I just wanted to assure you nothing like that will ever happen again..."

"Why would you be telling me that?" she asked, sospicious

"Because I want to prove you I'm not the jerk you think I am..." he smiled "I've been acting like one, I know, but I'm very different. You'll see, I'm gonna prove it to you..."

"What makes you think I'm interested?"

Johnny sighed "You're always so cold with me... You blame me saying I only choose the most popular monsters to hang out with me and mark the others as pipsqueaks withouth even giving them a chance... But that's exactly what you're doing with me, isn't it?"

She froze. She had to admit, he has got a point, after all. "Fine then" she finally said "But you shouldn't make your apologies to me. You should go to the Oozmas..."

"I will, don't worry" he smiled widely, nodding his head. He approached to the door, then turned around.
"You know, I was wondering...Are you really that cool or just keeping calm in front of me?"

"What do you mean?"

"Well..." started Johnny "If I had found out my best friend did such a bad thing, I surely would have gone mad..."

Her eyes went wide "Randy?" she asked "But... why? What has he done?"

Johnny's eyes went wide too "You mean he did tell you?" he asked, in disbelief "I guess he didn't find the courage to..."

"The courage to tell me what?" she repeated, starting to loose her temper "What have happened?"

"Well, Randall took part in the joke as well..." answered Johnny, calm

"W-what?" exclaimed Niky. Then, she shook her head "I'm not believing a single word from you, Worthington!"

"If you don't believe me, why don't you ask your friends?" he said "They should know it better than anyone else..."

"And they didn't mention it!"

"Did you asked them where Randall was?" asked Johnny, sleekly

"Well, I..."

"Did you?" insisted the monster

Niky shook her head "No..."

Johnny nodded "He went invisible and dropped a pile of stuffed-animals on the poor Oozmas... I have to admit it was all my idea, but... I came here to say i'm sorry..." he said, then he paused, scratching his chin "I wonder... Why would Randall keep something like this from you?"

"I...I don't know..." she answered, looking down

"Then why don'tyou go and ask him?" suggested Johnny.

"Yes, I think I will" answered Niky "Thanks, Worthington"

"Please" said him with a smile "Call me Johnny..." Then he left the room, and closed the door behind himself.

...

"I don't get it, Johnny..." said Chet, as he was walking home with him "If you want to have the girl all for yourself and away from Boggs, why did you sent her to him?"

"Because" answered Johnny with a cold smile "I knew the thing I told her will bring them to an argument again, and since Niky's really attached to her friends, I'm sure she won't forgive Boggs for what he did last night... And since their friendship is already in crisis, it won't take long untill they definitely take separate ways... believe me, friend, the girl will soon be mine..."
